I am a dad

And I have been one for ten years. But even now I get moments of dadness that just fill me up. Sometime it's been about my boys growing up, such as when Danny and I play FIFA 10 and start winding each other up. Other times it is more 'innocent', like when Jake and I went out the back to build a snow man, sorry, warrior called Avatar. Never mind when Jake told me that Jesus had done some good stuff like Christmas and Easter but, basically, more people believe in Michael Jackson...

All wonderful moments that make me go all funny in my head. It's true, it does keep you young. I'm very, very lucky.

I know that feeling--the endorphins that arise from experiencing those special moments with your children. Even when they are grown. Different types of moments, but special nonetheless. There is nothing like having a deep, philosophical conversation with your kid. It makes you realize they are not just a part of you, but an entirely separate human being altogether.

I'm off on the plinth. I'm going to write about it. It stops me from shitting myself.
