I went to a ball. We had a ball. We danced like feckers! Laughed like drains. Thanks to all for the fun.
Been busy, work is all funny and stuff, chages happening, all good too. I’ll write more when I have time, hopefully next week. In the meantime a little gift from the good guys at GRP. It burns!!!

I love this, I think it’s the best thing I’ve seen for a while. Bernie took a pile of ads out in a host of Irish magazines. Now let’s see if it some crazy viral in the same vein as That Girl Emily and her billboard below…

Yes, yes, you heard right, style. It’s not something that I’m well known for but tomorrow I’m attending the Scottish Style Awards with some clients and the team at GRP. That means I have to get, emmmmm, styled up. Primark, here I come.Style of course is all very well. We recently launched a website for Ben De Lisi and his range of bathroom fittings. All very nice.
Tonight I’m off to a comedy club with some of the GRP team for some comedy. Which is useful.
Off to Primark tomorrow to buy a wee suit that will probably melt when I go in the rain. Pictures to follow of course…

At GRP/biscuit we have a group of people who go and try to find things that will inspire us in ways unyet decided. I look at websites I like and report back, others look at gadgets, Brad looks into music for us,etc and we post it up. Below is my last entry. I’ll be postnig entries up here. Some I’ve mentioned before, others new.

First up is PostSecret, an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard. It’s touching and funny.

We Feel Fine is an exploration of human emotion on a global scale. Every few minutes the website searches the world’s newly posted blog entries for occurrences of the phrases “I feel” and “I am feeling”. When it finds such a phrase, it records the full sentence, up to the period, and identifies the “feeling” expressed in that sentence (e.g. sad, happy, depressed, etc.). The site is so beautiful, giving glimpses into people’s thoughts and lives by using an fantastically simple interface. I love it.
Found collects stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids’ homework, to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles - anything that gives a glimpse into someone else’s life and places them on-line.
Lastly there is Little People, a tiny street art project. Basically it is little hand-painted people, left in London to fend for themselves. It’s a progression of Tilt-shift fakes which are real photos which are post-processed to make them look like tiny model villages (with varying degrees of success…).
Cool.

Happy, happy, happy. Kryotrans’ new website was launched today. It’s been a great project to work on, thanks to Chris at Kryotrans and also to Victoria at 7th Floor for making it a joyous project to work on. Go on.

GRP/biscuit won The Creative Cup in a tense final that went to penalties. Tony even broke his toe but played on in true champions spirit. I’m proud of each and everyone of the team. Go on!

After going around the world seeing all the wonders of the world you’d think that Allan would have better things to tell us rather than some “ping pong show” that he saw in the east.
Anyway I’m delighted to have Allan back working away. He’s already done some great work for Mono and GYB and he’s frothing for the Flex plans we have. Really good to have you back Big Al!
(Since I’ve been nice can I get those videos you took on the away day back? Pulease?)

GRP/biscuit away day on Friday to the ever so swanky Scotsman Hotel. I loved my room. It was a fantastic day, a wee treasure hunt in and around Edinburgh and then a meal with large glasses of wine. Then dancing. Then laughing. Then penthouses. Then bed. Then a great breakfast. Then home.
As always I was a bit of a wallflower, just kept myself to myself really. I would like to thank Pam and Claire for taking pity on me. And Steph too. And sorry to Julie for dropping her. I didn’t mean it. My bad.
Other pictures:

View from my room…

A monopoly board. In a table! Whatever next, crazy!

While on a trip to Manchester the lovely Clare and I stumbled upon a chinese restaurant. Clare ably demonstrates this below:
In the window the restaurant are displaying their wares. The have placed the food in some kind of suspension of plastic and clingfilm. Below are just a few of the treats they are showing off…

Hmm, tasty plastic rice.

Clare assures me that this is a cashew nut dish.

This is covered in cling film probably to save the flies.
I have more of these and they make me laugh. I’ve never seen it before and it seems odd to me. Why show rubbish imitations of food when the real thing is obviously better. The restaurant seemed busy enough but I can’t imagine anyone saw this display and decided that it was the meal for them.
I was so intrigued by this that I visited the windows three times in two days. I didn’t buy any food.
