I like it for this. I do have a select few social friends there too. I made an effort to present my page with interests/occasional blog /lots of info/pics about me, but doubt many people really care to look or read; certainly I don't get many comments and I'm not good at pimping myself. Hence I really have not ventured to Facebook and probably won't do so. For the first time a few days ago I thought about deleting my MySpace page. I don't think I will though, but i don't log in every day anymore. It is rather interesting how quickly that happened - I've only had an account since early this year, and then quit posting before the summer began. I have not tried Facebook; I may not - I am already too busy right now. However, perhaps it might be something to try when things slow down a bit. I am always up to reconnecting with my friends - if any of them are on Facebook - we'll see. Well, I am relieved to know that I am not the only one who has gotten tired of MySpace. The crazy backgrounds, and all the flashing, and ... I pretty much have given up on it. I'm liking Facebook better, the applications are far easier for those of us (moi) that are challenged about such things.
