Some you win…

As a logo it’s not going down well at all. I loved the comment about the designer’s parents being very proud…
Be interested to see if it’s a grower. It’s not really tripping my switches at the moment though. Could it be another Wii moment? Where everyone hated the name when launched (esp after teh codename for it was Revolution) and now you just can’t imagine being called anything else. Time will tell.

You remember when the Olympics was held in Georgia? Remember that big blue turd, Izzy?
Good luck with that!
(poke poke)
Looks wayy too much like a swastika.
I’m sad about it, really. I’m the sort of person/designer that tries to see the good in designs that other people often hate. Unfortunately, my unshakable gut reaction to it has been “BLEH.” It’s kind of neat, in an abstract way, when it’s in different colors. But what is the concept? Why does it look like something from the 80s? Why is it that I can barely tell what the shapes mean? ::fwaps their designer upside the head:: Day 1 in art school, buddy! Concept Is King!
Oy. Sorry, I spewed a bit here. A bit of pent up disappointment!

I find that events like the Olympics or Commonwealth Games, whilst the events themselves are quite prestigious, seem to produce tacky mascots and logos. These things don’t produce much emotional reaction in me. This London logo thing has stirred up local sentiment about it being a rip-off of Federation Square design, which itself has questionable taste. I don’t know why people would care so much.
This is Fed Square, anyway
