Words can’t currently describe the alarm clock that I’ve had to “deal” with over the past six weeks. It’s like an air horn. It’s not nice, not soothing and quite terrifying. I’m not doing it any justice at all. It’s ear piercingly painful. And I’ve not got used to it.
Like most of these things I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands and have purchased a more civilised alarm clock, one that wakes you with a compliment rather than a fright. I can’t wait. Thank you Mr Fry, thank you.
I’ve not heard if the purchase will be welcomed. I can’t wait. I’m all about the classy.

I’ve been playing with Oblique Strategies. I’ve been finding them useful in pushing through certain creative blocks when I’m doing documents. I’ve never been particularly natural in doing docs, I’m a better talker than writer. This little Mac widget is useful just to help think about an issue or problem on a different way.

“Do You?”
“Yes, I’ve been looking for you. Don’t you recognise me?”
“No, sorry, should I?”
“Not me, no. But you do know Susan and Andrea and Jane.”
“I do?”
“Yes and probably a load of others that we don’t even know about, you callous fuck”
“I’m sorry, I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Oh yes, that’s your way, isn’t it? Fire and forget, have your fun then fuck off, not caring what the fuck mess you leave behind. That’s the I*** S***** way, isn’t it?”
“My name’s Stewart Steel”
“Fuck off”
“It is, really, look, I’ll prove it.”
“Fuck. Sorry to bother you. Sorry.”

Show this yesterday spray painted to a wall. It’s on quite a busy wee path between Kelvingrove tube station and Gibson Street. It got me thinking who wrote it, why and who is it meant for? Me? You? What do you think?
I imagine someone has to walk that route everyday. They may not know that it was written for them but it gives a great pleasure to the artist.
I dunno. But I can’t imagine a better use for pink paint.

I’m listening to the music. I like this little gadget and I’m enjoying last.fm is helping me broaden my musical tastes. It’s a cool little music social networking app thing. Me like.
I’m tired today, met Roger from EQSN last night for a drinks, ran off leaving him to pay the bill. My bad. Sam and I ran off to Gamba for the best fish soup in the world. 50% of the people at our table agreed with that.
Won a pitch for creating the website for Glasgow Community and Safety Services. i pitched yesterday and given that all my kit failed and my presentation felt a little shoddy I was bowled over that I won the pitch. I’m looking forward to working with GCSS. Magic!
Tonight: Beer! With Mulvey! And Shea! Et al!
Sally, I’m up a tree! Still!

Been doing all that lovely food stuff recently, off to Cafe Andaluz with the equally delectable Sam. We had some fantastic tapas but as usual I ordered one dish too many. I got to pick the wine though and I always seem to pick one bottle too few. Typical. Went to Buddha for beers and chat.
Friday I created a wonderfully soothing Palak Paneer curry type thing which was great as creamed spinach is one of my favs.
Saturday Sam, Anne, Mike and myself headed to some nice Indian restaurant that I can’t remember the name of. It’s on Church Street though. We had a crazy banquet thing and as I have learned over the years the one thing I never do is never to eat everything. It was good but I preferred my dish.
Tonight I’m cooking a cheeky chickpea curry thing. Struck gold there.
Oh yes.
