This is desire
Upgraded this week and became the proud owner of a new MacBook. It really is a thing of beauty. I was lucky enough to have it all setup quite quickly and given that I’ve only really dabble in the world of Apple before I’ve not had any real problems in making the switch. It’s all been fairly painless after I installed my desired software such as Firefox, Neo Office and Thunderbird.
I’m really happy with it, Frontrow is very cool and I burnt my first DVD. I like feeling a child like wonder when software helps you do things that you felt that previously was a heavily technical operation. I had all sorts of fancy pants transitions going on. Photobooth, using the built in iSight camera, is funny too, kids love it, I love it. Moved all myiTune information onto the Mac and it was easy enough if a little time consuming.
So far so good. It’s only been a few days but I’ve not really had any major problems with the transition. It’s been pretty smooth. If I stumble into any issues I’ll let you know. Sweet.

Most excellent, Stewart! You’ll love your MacBook!! I’m on an iMac G5, which I bought just before they went with the Intel processor, but I still love it
My son just bought a white MacBook and he’s really loving it! I also didn’t find the change over too difficult, even though I’m only moderately computer literate. The only gripe is that I do run into websites that require Internet Explorer to run properly. Other than that, I love my Mac.
Enjoy your Mac! We are Mac users from way back. So much easier than the buggy windows boxes. We’ve converted a few friends over the years.
The Mac Apps are also top notch. I edit in Final Cut Studio and my hubby digs his Garage Band. Don’t play round much with iPhoto or iMovie, just because I have the production bundle, but they have come in handy for quick demos.
Also, glad you got a Canon camera. Once again, that’s all we buy. I swear by them. We just got rid of one of out miniDV prosumer GL2s and bought a consumer model Canon Elura 100 which is the cutest little cam. Fits in my pocket! Also, own a 4 year old Canon G2 which I hope to upgrade finally in March.
Anyway, enjoy your toys!
My husband is a diehard Mac lover. His company switched to pc laptops a couple of years ago. Now I get to hear him yelling and swearing whenever he is trying to deal with Windows. I don’t know…I don’t have a problem with it and I can usually help him fix his problem. However, he is determined to get a Mac next computer.
