Nu Toys

Another thing in 2007 is about being more creative, something that I kick start myself on every New Year. Creativity takes many forms of course which is why it’s so much fun.

Today I was lucky to be involved in an internal pitch meeting for a client that we’re presenting to soon. I loved it, we looked over a whole load of really thoughtful, interesting and, of course, creative ideas. It was great being involved in that process. It’s a process that I’ve been involved since my theatre days, that collaborative discussion to find the best solution for a client’s needs. I adore it and I always find it very exciting. Your comments in the Welcome to Scotland post have been really helpful in the process too so I thank you for that. I love my work.

Creativity again. This time in other people and experimenting. I’ve found the BuddyPing site and I’ll be interested in how it works and how it plays. You can see where I am below:

It seems cool, I’ll play and report. Send me a message if you’re bored.

Today I am mostly listening to The Hold Steady. I am hoping to see them with some people next month. In Glasgow even. In the fecking Cathouse. Such is the cost of experiencing new things.

It’s all good!

  1. The Buddy Ping looked so interesting that I went to sign up right away. I had put all my info in until I got to the message that said “only available in the UK”. Bummer! Well I’d love to send you a message, Stewart, but can’t from the U.S. unfortunately. I bookmarked the page in hope that they will become worldwide one day.

  3. Agree with Cindy M, it does look cool, but oh well, maybe they’ll go international one day.

I couldn’t comment on the Scotland thing since I haven’t been yet. That’s for next Sept when a group of us (25 so far) are going to hang out for a week, starting in Edinburgh, then heading to Carbisdale Castle to generally hang out, have picnics and whatever, just pretty much visiting friends.

I’ve been poking around on the internet for over ten years where Scotland is concerned. I’ve always wanted to go there. So I finally get a chance and I’m taking it. My friends are doing all the planning, setting up, etc, and are looking into entertainment now. We’re all pretty laid back people so it should be all good.

Travel agent for the most part will be handling most of the stuff. I’m depending heavily on my traveling companion (UofJC from the bb.net board) since she’s more experienced than I am. Our friends in the UK are hiring a van to get us to our final destination, so that’s taken care of. That way we get to see the countryside instead of missing all that by flying. I checked out the Carbisdale Castle site and am actually very pleased with what I’m seeing as I’ve always liked cities less than more remote and natural settings. I get very nervous where there are no trees. And I should be able to do a little biking. Bikes are like time machines. They take you back to your childhood. Or maybe that’s just me. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to do Glasgow and Edinburgh, but given the time we have to spend there and everything being planned by our hosts, I’ll forgo the pleasure. Though I did want to see some of those wonderful sculptures…
