At GRP/biscuit we have a group of people who go and try to find things that will inspire us in ways unyet decided. I look at websites I like and report back, others look at gadgets, Brad looks into music for us,etc and we post it up. Below is my last entry. I’ll be postnig entries up here. Some I’ve mentioned before, others new.

First up is PostSecret, an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard. It’s touching and funny.

We Feel Fine is an exploration of human emotion on a global scale. Every few minutes the website searches the world’s newly posted blog entries for occurrences of the phrases “I feel” and “I am feeling”. When it finds such a phrase, it records the full sentence, up to the period, and identifies the “feeling” expressed in that sentence (e.g. sad, happy, depressed, etc.). The site is so beautiful, giving glimpses into people’s thoughts and lives by using an fantastically simple interface. I love it.

Found collects stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids’ homework, to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles - anything that gives a glimpse into someone else’s life and places them on-line.

Lastly there is Little People, a tiny street art project. Basically it is little hand-painted people, left in London to fend for themselves. It’s a progression of Tilt-shift fakes which are real photos which are post-processed to make them look like tiny model villages (with varying degrees of success…).
Cool.
